Creating a perfect diamond squares pattern is made easy with this tool. It allows you to punch out 81 evenly spaced holes in a sheet of clay. Additionally, it's suitable for Mokume Gane techniques and can also be used as a pattern stamp. Compare it to the PCP Multi Square Cutter Tool Horizontal. This tool is arranged a little differently giving a whole new look.
The tool is 3.5" x 3.5". The holes are approximately 1/8". Check out the Dot Pattern cutters. They were all inspired by the video below.
Basic Instructions:
Roll a sheet of clay. If it is too thick the cutter can be used as a stamp. If it is thinner, you can cut all the way through. Experiment with the settings of your clay roller. If you want to remove the circles, use your clay blade to pick up the sheet. Hold the sheet in your hand and push the circles out. If you are concerned about distortion, you can use a needle tool to pick out the circles, but the edges won't be quite as clean. It's easy to clean them up. I'll be posting a short video showing my technique as soon as possible.
Please take a look at the Stripes and Dots tutorial below which was the inspiration for creating this tool. This tool is perfect for this technique! She has more great tutorials here: Made by Melly
